Raízen ROXlite
This project became a true success case by completely modernizing the invoicing process for Shell aviation fuel refueling operations across airports in Brazil. With the implementation of the new tablet-based app nationwide, the company gained a fast, secure, and easily updatable system,eliminating the limitations of the old device. The solution delivered significant gains in operational efficiency and reduced errorsand greatly improved the operator experience. Moreover, it established a scalable technological foundationthat allows rapid implementation of improvements and ensures greater reliability and speed in service — both nationally and internationally, as the system has already been expanded to Argentina.

A Raízen is a Brazilian integrated energy company operating in sugar and ethanol production, fuel distribution (licensed under the Shell brand in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay), and renewable energy generation. It is one of the largest companies in the country, active from production to final distribution, employing over 45,000 people and working with more than 15,000 business partners nationwide.
The company is a joint venture between Cosan and Shell, combining Cosan's expertise in biofuel production with Shell's global distribution infrastructure.
Challenge
A Raízenresponsible for refueling aircraft with Shell fuel at airports,used an outdated device to record and issue refueling invoices. This device had serious technical limitations — a closed system, no modern connectivity, and extremely complex maintenance and updates. The challenge was to create a scalable and easily updatable solution that could be deployed across the entire country..

My Role
My role as a UX/UI Designer, UX/UI Designer was essential in transforming a technical and limited process into an efficient and intuitive digital experience. I was responsible for leading research stages, understanding user pain points, mapping existing workflows, and proposing a new information architecture to simplify operators’ daily tasks. I created wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and the final app interface — always validating solutions with the client and the development team. This close collaboration ensured the final product was not only functional and scalable but also visually consistent with the brand identity and centered on real user needs.
UX Research
Understanding Context and Immersion
Meetings were held with Raízen stakeholders involved in the project, gathering feedback and insights from the operational teams responsible for refueling. The goal was to understand the real workflow and map the main challenges faced by users of the old system. This technical and business requirement analysis with Raízen’s IT team provided a clear context of the process and a detailed perception of users’ pain points.
Definition
Based on the insights collected, the following points were defined:
- Main goal: Create a modern, flexible, and updatable digital solution that simplifies the refueling invoice process.
- Key system requirements:
- Quick selection of client, airport, and fuel type;
- Invoice issuance with printing or email delivery;
- Online/offline connectivity and synchronization;
- Intuitive and objective interface suitable for field use;
Ideation and Information Architecture
Based on the findings, the new app’s information architecture was structured as follows:
- Mapping all usage flows of the old system;
- Identifying friction points and improvement opportunities;
- Creating optimized site maps and user flows;
Low-fidelity wireframes were then created, validated in review sessions with the client, and refined through multiple iterations.

- Have a reliable, fast, and intuitive system;
- Register refueling operations and issue invoices without errors;
- Receive automatic updates and have functional equipment in any condition.
User Flow
I created a user flow to visualize, analyze, and optimize the path the user takes to achieve specific goals within the product. This diagram helped the design and development teams understand user needs, identify friction points, and create a more intuitive and efficient experience.

Information Architecture
Information Architecture organizes and structures content logically, ensuring users can find what they need effortlessly. Without a well-planned architecture, even the most visually appealing design can result in a frustrating experience.

Wireframes
When creating wireframes, I focused on functionality, layout, and content organization rather than aesthetics. Wireframes ensured that the product’s foundation was solid and user-centered.

Usability Testing
The app’s flows were straightforward, and testing confirmed the insights identified so far. Low-fidelity prototypes were used to validate user interactions early in the project — focusing purely on functionality, flow, and information architecture, without distractions from visual elements.
| SUGGESTIONS | SOLUTIONS |

| Suggestions Solutions Include more information in the issued invoice. | Minor adjustments were made to the invoice issuance document to enable the inclusion of the additional information. |
Design System
Following Raízen’s marketing team guidelines, I defined the color palette, typography, and component standards that structured the project — ensuring visual and functional consistency. All materials were validated by the client, enabling faster, scalable, and professional interface creation.
